oundTrack_Cologne (STC), Europe's leading congress for music and sound in film, games, and media, which is held annually in Cologne, reaches its 21st edition this summer.
The four-day congress, which offers more than 60 events, including talks, case studies, workshops, masterclasses, and networking activities, culminates with an Award Ceremony open to the public for the very first time.
Two-time Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the ceremony for his titanic contribution to the music industry, and some of his pieces for film, TV, and video games will be played that same night by the Neues Rheinisches Kammerorchester.
With more than 40 musicians on stage, the concert will also feature scores by composers Marcel Vaid and Adrian Frutiger (Davos 1917), the 2024 Grammy winners Stephen Barton and Gordy Haab (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor), Cristóbal Tapia de Veer and Kim Neundorf (The White Lotus) and Anthony Willis (Saltburn). During the ceremony, the prizes WDR Filmscore Award, European Talent Award Sound Design, Peer Raben Music Award, and See the Sound Best Music Documentary will also be presented. The winner's music of the WDR Filmscore Award will be presented accompanied by the short film "Balcony Cacophony" (D: Quentin Haberham).
