Sound Dreams of Istanbul
I nspired by a dream, musician and filmmaker Anil Eraslan returns to Istanbul to make a film with his Istanbulite musician friends. Along the way, he invites them to recite their sonic dreams and stage them as musical performances in unconventional urban settings. From Ottoman-Turkish music to electronic music, free improvisation to noise, Istanbul's avant-garde music scene offers a phantasmagoric insight of the city between dream and reality. In this visual polyphony, a longing for Istanbul's lively musical past, now dimmed by the emigration of musicians, contrasts with a fresh energy that seeks to create new sounds and build a different future.
Composer (Original Score): Multiple improvisers in the film
