POEMS - A Journey through Icelandic Poetry

omposer Viktor Orri Árnason and soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir ventured on a musical road trip through Iceland, where they set out to discover more about the poetry of the most eminent writers of their country, which inspired their latest album ‘Poems, released via the iconic Deutsche Grammophon label in late 2023.
This film is a journey through the most remote landscapes, both physical and emotional. In a series of live one-take shots, the documentary shows the duo performing the poems respective songs in the most intimate locations: a tiny wooden house or in the breathtaking fjord of Snæfellsnes.
