SEE THE SOUND, das Filmfestival von SoundTrack_Cologne, lädt alle Filmemacher:innen, Produzent:innen und Verleiher:innen ein, Filme mit einem Fokus auf Musik einzureichen. Zur Einreichung berechtigt sind Filme und Musikvideos, deren Produktion nach dem 1. Januar 2024 abgeschlossen wurde und/oder die nach dem 1. Januar 2024 ihre Premiere gefeiert haben.
Unter den eingereichten Dokumentarfilmen wird der Preis für die Beste Musikdokumentation vergeben. Die Gewinnerproduktion erhält ein Preisgeld in Höhe von 2.500 Euro.
Elis & Tom – It Had to Be You · See the Sound Music Documentary Award 2024
Die brasilianische Dokumentation Elis & Tom der Regisseure Jom Tob Azulay und Roberto de Oliveira, produziert von Diogo Pires Gonçalves, wurde beim SEE THE SOUND Festival mit dem Preis für die Beste Musikdokumentation ausgezeichnet.
Der Film rekonstruiert den kraftvollen Moment, in dem sich die Sängerin Elis Regina und der Musiker Tom Jobim treffen, um ein Album aufzunehmen, das zu einem historischen Meilenstein der brasilianischen Populärmusik wird.
Die Jury, bestehend aus Regisseur Shadi Tabibzadeh, Regisseur, Dokumentarfilmer und Journalist Martin Gerner sowie Filmemacher und TV-Autor Christoph Simon, hob hervor, dass der Film „wie eine magische Zeitkapsel wirkt, die die Nostalgie der Sechzigerjahre mit heutigen Reflexionen verbindet und ihn zu einem Schatz macht, der wiederentdeckt werden will.“
